主讲人简介:
Michael Greaney教授,硕士毕业于牛津大学,博士毕业于伦敦大学学院,宾夕法尼亚大学博士后,从2002年开始,先后担任爱丁堡大学讲师、副教授。从2011年开始担任曼彻斯特大学讲席教授。入选英国皇家化学学会和爱丁堡皇家学会会士。获得国内外众多奖项,其中包括葛兰素史克、阿斯利康、先正达、辉瑞制药公司颁发的药物工艺优化化学研究奖(GSK, AstraZeneca, Syngenta and Pfizer Prize for process chemistry research 2011), Thieme 杂 志奖 (Thieme journal award 2009), 阿斯利康青年化学家奖(AstraZeneca young chemist award 2003),辉瑞自由研究奖( Pfizer unrestricted research award 2003)。主要研究领域为绿色化学、药用天然产物合成和动态共价生物化学研究。迄今为止在国际Top期刊上发表了60多篇学术论文(包括多篇Nature子刊论文),并参与撰写了3本著作。
讲座内容摘要:
Transition metal (TM) catalysts can control a vast range of chemical reactivity. At one extreme, they can harness and modulate the most energetic reactive intermediates, such as arynes and carbenes. Contrastingly, they can be used to activate inert, unreactive functional groups such as C-H bonds. Both of these areas offer tremendous potential for the discovery of new, catalytic reaction pathways for C-C and C-X bond construction. Focussing on the heterocyclic field, the talk will describe our progress in designing new TM-catalysed reaction systems and their application to modular heterocycle synthesis.
