内容简介:Urban computing is a process of acquisition, integration, and analysis of big and heterogeneous data generated by a diversity of sources in urban spaces, such as sensors, devices, vehicles, buildings, and human, to tackle the major issues that cities face, e.g. air pollution, increased energy consumption and traffic congestion. Urban computing connects unobtrusive and ubiquitous sensing technologies, advanced data management and analytics models, and novel visualization methods, to create win-win-win solutions that improve urban environment, human life quality, and city operation systems. In this talk, I will present our recent progress in urban computing, introducing the applications and technologies for integrating and deep mining heterogeneous data. Examples include fine-grained air quality inference throughout a city, crowd sending city-wide gas consumption and vehicle emissions, and diagnosing urban noises with big data.
郑宇博士简介:微软亚洲研究院主管研究员,上海交通大学讲座教授(Chair Professor)和西南交通大学客座教授。主要研究方向为城市大数据、时空数据挖掘和普适计算等。他是IEEE旗舰刊物IEEE Spectrum的编委,担任过ICDE 14 和UIC 14的程序委员会主席。他受邀在APEC 2014等十多个国际会议和论坛上做大会主题报告(Keynote Speech),并多次在MIT、CMU、康乃尔等顶尖学府讲学。他发表学术论文近百篇,其中以主作者身份在ACM SIGMOD、KDD、VLDB、TKDE等知名国际会议和刊物上发表论文50余篇,并四次获得最佳论文奖(如ICDE 2013)和一次最佳论文提名(UbiComp’11)。由他主编的《Computing with Spatial Trajectories》一书被美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、中国和韩国的高校选用为教材。他的研究成果获得22项国际发明专利和三项技术转化奖,并多次被科技评论等国际权威媒体报道。2013年,他因在城市计算领域的贡献被MIT科技评论评为全球杰出青年创新者(MIT TR35)。2013年11月,他作为现代创新者代表登上了美国的《时代》周刊。
